Privacy notice
This notice covers this website. What you tell a mediator in a session is covered by your mediation agreement, not by this page.
What we collect
When you send the contact form: your name, email address, phone number, your message, the page you first arrived on, and, if you followed a link from an ad or email, the campaign tags in that link (including Google’s ad click ID).
The child support calculator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type into it is saved or sent to us.
Like any website, our hosting provider records basic technical details of each visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the time, to keep the site running and secure.
Why we use it
To reply to you and set up a consultation.
To check for conflicts of interest. A mediator must be neutral, so before we meet we check whether we have already worked with you or your spouse.
To stop spam and abuse of the form, for example by limiting how many requests can come from one address in a short time. If the form shows a spam check, it is run by Cloudflare.
Who stores it
Your request goes into practice software that we license from our software provider. It is stored on servers in the United States run by Supabase (database) and Vercel (website hosting). Our provider and its hosts handle your information only to run the service for us, under contracts that require them to protect it.
We do not sell your information, share it with advertisers, or use advertising or tracking cookies. The video on our home page loads from YouTube only if you press play.
How long we keep it

If you become a client, your file is kept as required for our professional records.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing info@smartdivorceny.com or calling (716) 400-7286. We may need to confirm who you are first.
Please do not put anything in the form you would not put in an email. Details about your case are best discussed in your consultation.
Security
The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Inside the software, each business’s records are kept separate, staff see only what their role allows, and changes are logged. No system is perfectly secure, and if a breach ever affected your information we would notify you as New York law requires.
