Mediation or a divorce lawyer: which do we need?
With us, you get both. A neutral mediator helps the two of you reach your agreement, and an attorney for the legal work is included in our flat fee, along with the paperwork and the court filing. Each of you is still free to consult your own attorney.
What each one does
A mediator works with both of you and does not take sides. In a litigated divorce, each of you hires an attorney to argue for you, and a judge may decide what you cannot.
| Mediation with us | Litigation | |
|---|---|---|
| Who is in the room | One neutral mediator, working with both of you | An attorney for each side, arguing against the other |
| Who decides | You and your spouse | A judge may decide what you cannot |
| What you pay | One flat fee, attorney included | Each side pays its own attorney by the hour |
